A triptych by British realist painter Nicholas Charles Williams. The painting, Desideratum, is the central piece in a cycle of works concerning desire and pursuit. The work challenges David Hockney's assertion that various painters of the Renaissance used optical devices in order to project images of their subject onto the canvas to be traced.
