Computer analysis of Nicholas Williams' paintings presented at National Gallery, London.

The optical scientist Dr David G. Stork will be giving a public lecture about his research into David Hockney's controversial theory that Renaissance painters traced over optically projected images and that this was a key source of the realism that appeared in the ars nova around 1420. The talk will include his analysis of van Eyck's Arnolfini portrait and a brief mention of Campin's A Man (from their collection), also computer analysis of British realist Nicholas Williams' paintings, a 15th-century chandelier from the Barley Hall Museum and many other painters and paintings, including Georges de la Tour, Caravaggio, Memling, and others.

The talk will take place at the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square on Wednesday, June 14 at 6:30pm.
